We are looking for someone to join our team in Manchester as our new Cafe General Manager.

We’ve been roasting speciality coffee for over 30 years. From humble beginnings as a coffee cart in Auckland, NZ, Allpress has evolved into a trusted brand that stands for flavour, quality and great customer experience. Right from the start three core principles have formed the backbone of our business – People, Flavour and Innovation.

We are united in our genuine care for each other, our customers, and our belief in what we do. We need great people who will bring their imagination, skills and most importantly, their passion to our business.

Now, we’re on the lookout for an experienced Café General Manager to lead our Manchester Café. If you’re passionate about coffee, hospitality, and being part of a team that values collaboration, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

About the role.

As the Café General Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing both front-of-house and kitchen operations, ensuring the smooth running of our newly opened café. You will work with a high level of autonomy to lead a talented team, instilling Allpress culture, and ensuring the café operates as a beacon of the Allpress brand. Your key focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the café is a hub for both coffee lovers and potential wholesale partners.

This dual-purpose space not only serves up delicious coffee and food, but also showcases our products and expertise to wholesale customers. You will need to be a true brand ambassador, involved in the local community, and passionate about sharing our story.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading, mentoring, and developing the café team to create a positive, cohesive environment.

Activating the café space to strengthen our brand presence, identifying creative ways to grow Allpress’s footprint in Northern UK through events, partnerships, and community engagement.

Overseeing day-to-day operations, including financial performance, ordering, scheduling, and maintaining the highest standard of food and coffee presentation.

Innovating and implementing strategies to grow the café, drive top-line sales, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Ensuring the café space is optimised, navigating spatial limitations with creativity and adaptability.

Managing supplier relationships, optimising costs, monthly stocktakes and overseeing P&L performance.

Facilities management and general maintenance of the space.

Leading and overseeing H&S compliance and ensuring the space is safe for staff and customers.

Driving team development and fostering a customer-first culture through continuous learning and support.

About You.

We are seeking someone who:

Has extensive experience in managing café operations, with a strong track record in overseeing financial performance and day to day operations.

Is a dynamic and hands-on leader with outstanding organisational skills, able to effectively solve problems and make sound decisions under pressure. Someone who can inspire, motivate and guide their teams to success and who is comfortable working with a high level of autonomy while equally valuing working within a team and cross department collaboration.

Has a genuine passion for coffee and hospitality, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service and cultivating a welcoming, engaging environment.

Is a hands-on leader who can inspire, motivate, and guide their team to success.

Thrives in fast-paced, high-energy settings, with a drive to innovate, adapt, and implement continuous improvements to enhance the café’s success

If you’re a dynamic leader with a passion for specialty coffee and hospitality, we want to hear from you!
