The shop is nestled in the cosy village of Stansted Mountfitchet, just a stones throw away from the train station and a couple of miles from the airport.
We are hiring a Head Barista to work closely with the management team. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience as a barista, in fast paced customer facing environments and coffee shop management. The Head Barista will be the face of the shop floor, interacting with customers constantly and ensuring all staff are delivering exceptional drinks all day, everyday. Good time management, organisation and a general pro-active nature are also imperative!
The role is a full-time role - 5 days a week. Being available to work on a Saturday is a must. Shifts Mon-Fri start at 06:45 and finish at 15:30. Shifts Sat start at 07:45 and finish at 14:30.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and specialty drinks with precision and attention to detail.
Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately, providing recommendations based on their preferences.
Comfortably operate coffee equipment.
Handle cakes and pastries and display neatly on the till counter.
Maintain a clear, clean and organised workstation adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Handle card transactions accurately using Square software.
Assist in daily operations including stock checks, taking deliveries and stamping branding on paper cups and bags etc.
Undertake cleaning duties including cleaning the coffee machine and grinder daily, table clearing, shop floor, loading and emptying dishwasher and end of the day clear-up.
Going above and beyond to exceed customer expectations and make them feel super comfortable.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take regular stock checks of consumable goods (e.g. coffee, tea etc.), disposables and cleaning equipment.
Help manage supplier relationships and lead on ordering of goods.
Keep owners up to date with the running of shop and offering recommendations to help improve processes if needed (staffing, coffee shop space etc.)
Develop and drive the seasonal items on the menu.
