Head Barista - With Milk Thames Barrier Park

With Milk Thames Barrier Park is looking for a Head Barista - someone with a deep love for coffee, people, and hospitality. We’re a small, passionate team in a new and growing business (this is With Milk’s second site), and we’re looking for someone who is proactive, positive, and excited to grow with us.

As Head Barista, you’ll be a key part of our leadership team, working closely with our manager and chef to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional coffee experience. This role is hands-on and physically active—we have a big space, and we need someone who takes pride in keeping it running seamlessly.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Quality & Consistency – Maintain high coffee standards, and ensure every cup meets our quality expectations.

  • Customer Experience – Lead service with confidence, expertise, and warmth, offering personal recommendations and building connections with our regulars.

  • Team Leadership – Set the tone for service, lead by example, and create a positive, supportive environment for our baristas.

  • Training & Development – Mentor baristas on and off the bar, helping them refine their skills and grow in their roles.

  • Operations & Maintenance – Operate and maintain high-spec equipment (La Marzocco, Mahlkönig, etc.), ensuring everything is clean, well-maintained, and running smoothly.

  • Organisation & Cleanliness – Oversee the café and barista station’s cleanliness and efficiency, keeping the space tidy and welcoming.

  • Stock & Ordering – Monitor stock levels, communicate needs, and support management with ordering.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A highly organised, adaptable, and proactive individual who can keep up with a fast-paced, growing business.

  • A team player with a great sense of humour—someone who keeps things light but knows when to get serious.

  • A natural leader who enjoys coaching, supporting, and helping others improve.

  • Someone who is tidy, physically able, and comfortable working in a large, active space.

  • A speciality coffee professional with proven experience and a leadership in their track record

  • Ideally someone who is local to our area (E16) or not too far away!

  • Someone with weekday availability (Wednesday-Friday) and one weekend day (which may not always be needed). This is a 3-4 shift per week role, shifts run from 8:15am-5:00pm.

If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact in a growing business, help shape a fantastic team, and serve excellent coffee every day, we’d love to hear from you!
